A great six months

June 16th, 2009

What can I say?  It has been six months since last posting.  It has also been six months since Korrine and I had our daughter Claire and it has been a great six months.  Since bringing her home in December the three of us have traveled to the snow, to Disneyland, to the bay area nearly half a dozen times and a LA Dodger game.

Korrine and I have found that Claire enjoys meeting new people, likes eating her fingers and toes and the occasional electronic device and is generally happy to tag along with her parents for whatever they are doing.  We have been very lucky to have a wealth of assistance from the four grandparents who live in town and a variety of friends and family who lend a hand when they can.

This week we are sure to put Claire’s “goodness” to the test by locking her up in a Boening 757 for 5 hours and 43 minutes as we travel to Hawaii’s big island on vacation.  Previous experience traveling has been good but this is not a car and it is much longer.  Wish us luck.

Last week while looking for some info on former Kern County Supervisor Vance Webb I came across this picture of the 1946 Elks state convention in Taft, CA.

Vance Webb is the seventh in from the left.  Then I noticed the second guy to his left looked familiar and he turns out to be Ray Bracken, who is Korrine’s grandfather.

What do you think, do you see a resemblance?
